The German language often seems so austere and fact-based.

But actually, there are some very cute ways of saying things:

- Staubsauger (dustsucker) = vacuum cleaner
- Kopfkino (head cinema) = making up a story in your mind
- Luftschlösser bauen (to build air castles) = to follow unrealistic dreams
- Purzelbaum (tumble tree) = somersault o. t. floor
- Schnapsidee (booze idea) = idea that sounds as if you're drunk
- Herzlichen Glückwunsch! (heartly joywish) = Congratulation!

We were doing a bit of gardening out the front of our house when we heard and saw some Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos in trees across the road. My wife went to check them out and took this photo of one flying away, with our house behind.

Black Cockatoo with a distinctive yellow patch behind it's eye is in flight with it's wings stretched up. The fingers at the end of it's large black wings can be seen slightly spread. Directly behind is my house, sky blue panels around a white door with a tree filled hill behind it.

And yes, my camera was straight when I took the shot. The clock is really tilted in reality.

A clock on the wall. The time is very short after 9 AM. In fact, the seconds hand shows that 3.5 seconds have passed while the minute hand shows that already half a minute has passed. The hour hand shows that already about a quarter of the hour has passed. The clock is not hanging straight upward but slightly tilted to the right.
