Do you want to help testing @badgefed and provision your local test instance?

Easy

docker pull ghcr.io/tryvocalcat/badgefed:latest &&
docker run -v `pwd`/data:/app/data \
-p 8080:8080 \
-e SQLITE_DB_FILENAME=/app/data/badges.db \
-e AdminAuthentication__AdminUsers__0__Id=your-mastodon-username \
-e AdminAuthentication__AdminUsers__0__Type=Mastodon \
-e MastodonConfig__ClientId=your-mastodon-client-id \
-e MastodonConfig__ClientSecret=your-mastodon-client-secret \
-e MastodonConfig__Server=your-mastodon-server \
ghcr.io/tryvocalcat/badgefed

And then open a browser and go to http://localhost:8080 or http://localhost:8080/admin

#docker #badgefed #openbadges #softwaredevelopment #testing #fediverse #activitypub

#Education and #welfare payments both have positive economic returns.

I am not kidding. Look it up.

If you give a poor person 1$ it has a return of about 1.34$ (AU).

Education is a harder one to estimate, for a doctor it's a return of 3.5 at least or up to 20% per annum.

Considering doctors also heal the public, keep people healthy and so on they increase the return in other ways.

You're never wasting money by giving it to the poor, housing them, or paying for education. It's an INVESTMENT.

If any Mastodon instances are having trouble with their costs growing out of control, ping me and see if I can help lower your bill.

Apparently a recently closed instance was paying $300/month for hosting which is insane to read considering how small of an instance it was. When we had 40k monthly users I was paying about $120/month so an instance with less than 400 total users (not MAU) should be super cheap to run even with a few TB of storage and bandwidth.

It hurts my heart to read instances closing down over costs and finding out they’re paying more than instances 10x their size. 😒

Which would you say? Specifically when trying to talk about a teacher that is not a human but is a robot.

I have an opinion as well as sources backing up my choice, but another teacher in my department is getting very defensive about their choice.

I should use "DebuggerDisplayAttribute" more often. You should use it, too. It's so handy. You can display meaningful information in your debugger instead of expanding and checking them manually with many clicks.
Usually, the debugger displays only the type of your class/record like "Person". Wouldn't it be handy to see which data (e.g. first name, last name) are in the object?

#csharp

Source code to define classes or records of "Person"The variables are displayed different in the debuggerThe debugger formats the output of "Person" in a list, too.
