Specialist solar PV recyclers can recover up to 90% of a solar panel for reuse.

In Victoria there are several reputable recyclers who reprocess solar PV panels. Installers can ccontact these facilities below or their local government authority for the nearest collection point and more information on the process to recycle solar PV panels:..

Sure, everything can be improved - but I don't think this alarmist "major problem" labelling is justified.

Back on the roof today, cleaning the #solarpanels
Based on the PV outage in Grafana (stats from #homeassistant )I cleaned 33 panels in 2h36m. I make that about 4m45s per panel. They do look shiny again now.

Photo of my roof in the late afternoon sun showing the 33 solar panels looking shiny and cleanScreenshot of the PV output from the solar panels, showing when I turned the panels off and back on again

I finally have a 3D printer at home, that I can use for electronics projects. Enclosures, solar panel mounts etcetera.

Irish solar records new monthly solar generation peak for May

Grid-scale solar accounted for 6.5% of electricity generated in May, with 173,163 MWh of solar output.

Irish solar has been hitting record generation levels lately, with new peaks for solar power recorded on the grid in March and May. In March, Ireland reached a new daily peak record with over 750 MW of grid-scale solar.

In May, about 32.5% of Ireland’s electricity came from renewables

UK small-scale solar costs tumble as competition heats up for installers

Figures for 2024-25 financial year reveal double-digit percentage drop in median price for UK small-scale solar. Falling prices were driven by increased supply and technology advancements, according to DESNZ, while installer warns new rooftop opportunities could come with tighter margins.

Global Solar pathfinders are important because they learn to solve new problems and disprove misinformation and disinformation.

One third of Australian dwellings have rooftop solar. This is often coupled with the removal of all gas appliances in favor of electric heat pumps, electric hot water storage tanks, electric vehicles and home batteries. Together, these provide the cheapest, most resilient and least polluting domestic energy in history.

This is the 100 year anniversary of humans having an idea of what the heck the sun and all the stars actually are. If you had asked a leading astronomer in 1925 what the sun was, they would say that it's basically the same as Earth, but very hot.

In Cecilia Payne's doctoral thesis she was the first to say, from spectral data, that the sun was overwhelmingly made of hydrogen and helium.

It was later described as "the most brilliant PhD thesis ever written in astronomy".
