One thing I have found surprising is how much I appreciate the sympathy cards people have sent me. I got one from a running friend who lives on the other side of the country with the nicest note, and it really does mean a lot to me. I’ll definitely make sure to send cards myself to others in the future. #grief

@rckenned I’ll be spectating at States this year. Parking is tight at Greengate so I won’t take up space down there, but I’ll probably go watch the lead ladies on the other side of the river. I volunteered at the finish line last year and ran the year before. Thank you for volunteering!

Saturday I went up to the mountains on the edge of Desolation Wilderness. Beautiful day! Only about an hour drive for me and for some reason the first time I’ve been in this area. #trailrunning #mountains #lakes

The have turned mostly brown now, but the flowers are still out. Nice run on the trails today! I’m enjoying just running when I can for as far as I want right. One of my favorite trail benches. It has an incredible view of the American River in the canyon below. The only time I hallucinated in an ultra I saw benches everywhere and when I finally got to a real one my pacer only let me sit on it for 30 seconds. Life is hectic right now. Kid stuff feels like a full time job and then on top of that is my actual full time job and attempting to keep my running legs going. We did escape to San Diego for a week, and that was awesome. I’m looking forward to pacing Canyons 100m in a week then I’m running off to Tucson for 5 days. Fucking cancer, it sucks living so far away and being limited in how much I can help.

@nicole I absolutely blame my phone. I stopped playing any phone games this year, which is probably my just step one of getting my brain back. I don’t think my job being 95% in front of my computer helps either. I have amassed collection of books at work that are work related and am trying to add some reading time into my work day.

@nicole I have been trying to get back into reading too. I used to read a few books a week but I killed my attention span somewhere along the way. Now I would be happy with reading a few a month and listening to a few more.
