Musical director of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, founder of Weather Report, and arguably the heart of Miles Davis' 2nd Great Quintet (Herbie Hancock called him "the master writer" of that group). He played on some of the key albums in jazz history & collaborated with Lee Morgan, Gil Evans, Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Santana, McCoy Tyner, Freddie Hubbard, Norah Jones & many more

@mralex for my music, I’ve noticed people tend to digest the full album or set of songs more often if there are less tracks. My newer albums get more plays for the full album per listener because there is less tracks

I have impostor syndrome. The people I look up to have impostor syndrome. The people I'm friends with have impostor syndrome. People you look up to have impostor syndrome.

The most insidious thing about impostor syndrome is that it makes it mindblowingly unbelievable when you find out that your heroes have it as well--because why would they? They've made it, they're at the pinnacle, what excuse could they possibly have for thinking they don't belong, and it's nearly self-indulgent of them to have impostor syndrome.

But of course YOU have impostor syndrome. You've still got everyone convinced that you belong here. </sad trombone>

Just remember - impostor syndrome isn't about whether you belong. It's about whether you're ALONE with your impostor syndrome...and you're not. Hugs. Right there with you, buddy.

@artcollisions sometimes friends come over and we just have fun :) But usually I end up recording little guitar parts for people or just work on my solo music

The one thing I like about vinyl is I can master the music to not be part of the loudness wars. But that’s not because vinyl is better it’s just because of how people consume vinyl verses digital. The new LUFS streaming standards are helping a lot, so hopefully this will be a moot point sooner than later
