Dad guy. Unfortunately a #Browns fan.

Wastes time perfecting things with little to no payoff.

You are vastly underestimating the amount of #hummus I— used to eat until it messed up my stomach.

I tested the improved recording quality of AirPods 4 with the recently released beta firmware.

It's MUCH better than before. I'm impressed!

I took a stab at MCP server creation for #Ansible #Semaphore and I’ve tested it in #Claude. So many MCPs popping up! This feels kind of cool for a #selfhosted #homelab environment

@kiraso This is built on n8n. It’s a pretty polished workflow automation tool with a pretty active community. I don’t love that it’s not OSS but the integrations are pretty nice. It ends up being a lot of code nodes strung together with the slack integration being one of the final nodes in the workflow. This workflow is triggered by another workflow that periodically polls the YouTube channel’s RSS feed and then leverages a google project with YouTube v3 integration for the rest of the work.

I may have spent an unreasonable amount of time creating a workflow to evaluate my child's youtube videos before they're made public with #n8n

Next, I want to add timestamp links to point to concerning bits of the videos.

My kid makes a ton of these so manual review of all of them is quite time-consuming.

Announcing: justaqrcode.com.

Tired of "free" QR code generators that are full of ads and trackers, that share your data, and that want to sell you something? Me too. Here's my act of resistance: I made a one-page site that works entirely in your browser to generate a simple QR code. And that's all it does. You can download the HTML page and run it locally, even. Read the source; nothing up my sleeves. Just a QR code.

My offer to you -- I will continue to pay for the domain name and web hosting for it, myself. If you find it valuable, you can pay it back by creating your own useful thing for the world and releasing it for free. Let's take back the friendly web, one vexingly-monetized utility at a time!

@tailscale has been such a nice addition to my homelab! So easy to work with and I feel like I’m constantly finding new useful features the more I use it. 🍻 # 5yearsofTailscale

Wow! Onboard video of the Blue Ghost lander touching down on the Moon two days ago.

Multiple onboard experiments are now studying the lunar surface. Details at link.

I'm really liking using a-shells #shortcuts that can run as background automations. I use it every morning to download the NYT web version as an epub so it’s ready when I wake up.

I recently read that #Calibre has recipes to automatically download articles from popular news sites and create ebooks from this content. I wrapped the #NYT recipe in a github actions workflow to grab NYT web edition each morning.

From there, I use @WorkingCopy to clone the repo on my #ipad and import the latest NYT web edition to the Books app each morning.

There’s not a whole lot that’s “new” in this repo, but I use it and like it so far so maybe you will too github.com/cloin/news-epub

TIP: Trying to learn the keyboard shortcuts assigned to actions? You can enable display of assigned shortcuts in the action list in the options menu (…).

Available on both Mac and iOS.

@kielbasa not an odd or obscure one but I’m a fan of the podman plugin. It’s nice to be able to check logs for self-hosted stuff.

I love checking mastodon early on the weekends and seeing the explosion of posts from all the runners in time zones ahead of me.

The pictures, race recaps, and general training updates are so fun to see. And they remind me that I have to finish my coffee and get out there, too 😉
