@Dunstable I watched this on this last New Years and I don't think I've laughed harder at anything since.

@itsVague I still sing along when Fa Fa comes on the radio.

@Radgryd Its a bit basic, but hopefully a good organization:

@ben Hate to agree with you, but yeah. Gone are the glory days, as with most gaming media sites nowadays. If you have any alternatives, I'm all ears.

@MythicNation I'm using Tusky and it's pretty chipper. What are you using?

@stephenkingjourney Looking through your list reminds me how much I still have to read! I gotta get to it!

As the saying goes, those who don't remember our history are doomed to repeat it. That's what inspired Martin Mycielski to compile what came to be known as the Authoritarian Regime Survival Guide for unsuspecting Americans at the onset of Trump's first term. And now, months into Trump 2.0, perhaps it's time—or past time—to dust it off once again. thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p

@the_skotts Make sure you select the option to limit the dungeons to one level deep when you inevitably give in and install DFUnity. And try the extended view distance mod!

Ctrl-ZINE is an independent smol web project, and its Issue 17 Vol. 2 happens to contain pieces by two of my favorite people on the fediverse. @rootcompute has a great piece here about his time on and thoughts about the fediverse, and @ttntm wrote a love letter to one of my own favorite games here, Diablo II.

@RMCritics I have heard of it and looked into it a little, but I'm currently in two campaigns at the moment and planning to run my own Dune campaign in the near future. So I don't quite have the time at the moment! But I do want to get into it.

@Knightky Mophidius for the win!

2025-05-29

@RMCritics Nice! I'd love to play with a group. I've already made tons of characters on PathBuilder.

@8bitacrylic Still trying to make time for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. I'm right at the siege of Drezen, about to wade into the demon army.

I'm still so mad that I had this cool character all planned out: its a game about fighting demons, right? I'll make a sword and board paladin, a cool female paladin. I'm not familiar with the gods in Pathfinder, so I'll go with the generic god of light or whatever, Iomedae.

I start the game and not more than 5 minutes in I meet my first party member, a sword and board female paladin of Iomedae. 🤬

Other than that, I'm having a ton of fun with the game, less so with the HOMM-like army management subgame. At least it's easy to adjust and part of the game difficulty up or down as you please. A million bonus points for that one.

@RMCritics Let us all know how it went and what kind of character you made!

2025-05-24

@ottomancer I don't know if you're still around on Mastodon, but I hear you have run some Dune: Adventures in the Imperium. Care to share any advice?

2025-05-23

I'm going to try and run a Dune ttrpg with some friends of mine in the near future. I've written up a few plot hooks and scenarios but I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with the Modiphius 2d20 Dune system, or if you think there are any key moments from the books or movies you think I should try and hit.

I've got a black bag mini campaign somewhat set up and I'm working on an Arrakis one and a royal court intrigue one. Any suggestions are appreciated!

@scribblemacher That's a parenting win right there!

@GamingWolf Oh, Dusk is so good! So many lovely curveballs thrown your way in that game. Truly delectable tension!
