@knowuh Limitations are not what they used to be. I run Arch (btw) and have been gaming on it for a while now. Steam has great compatibility built in for Linux and has solved many issues that once used to be common. I would say it’s a great time to give it a try. Others say Dune will run, but you may have to change a setting for Battle eye to work.

@fb Can you use AUR for one and Flatpack for the other?

@ItsThatDeafGuy Was it having you manually partition everything or did it have an option for automatic partitions?

I see many devs are very excited about being available on now, but after trying it out I am curious as to why it is getting this much attention? I am not at all trying to rain on the parade but I am genuinely curious about what has everyone so excited? It is a beautiful app for sure and snappy, but what features have you the most excited to use Zed as your editor of choice?

@Cstnskld I agree! However, the use of AI for software dev seems to be a sore spot with people I know in the field; which I get with how they have used previous code as learning models. :) But thank you!

I may catch some heat here, but I needed a today, and instead of digging up a refresher tutorial I typed a prompt into and had it in moments. Where was this stuff years ago when I was developing full time?? Tried it on some acrobatics as well and learned some new tricks!

@themrallen I had been feeling a bit let down that I didn't have an easy way to config my mouse as easily as the official app for Windows, but not anymore! This scratches every itch and then some.

I stumbled across an amazing / this evening while messing with the settings for my Expert mouse on called "Input Remapper." As we have more people coming from to Linux and wanting options for their input devices, this tool can greatly impact your or setup and will save you tons of time doing it.

@darth Seemed the correct response for a first time Arch install. 😁 Wiki install or used the installer script?

@GothFvck Agreed. Our lighting controller uses and we have used it for many years without issue. Our video hardware however was built around 10 and was phased out. Can't help but think they could have greatly extended product support if it was built on Linux.

@mekeor I've suggested @elementary OS to people getting started with with great reception. Closer to the MacOS vibe but most everything they want is already there and just works. Built on . elementary.io/
