I ordered a bag of Human Refugee Coffee.
They say 100% of their profits go toward "critical humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees." All I have is their word that such is the case. Taking charity organizations at their word just doesn't sit right with me. Maybe I'm being overly particular about my epistemic satisfaction with this. I suppose I can dig around for information from an independent auditor or something, but I'm not inclined to do that at the moment.
The coffee is tasty, though.
So I tried snac, and I didn't care for the minimalism of the UI. I suppose it would take some getting used to if I really wanted to, but I don't really want to.
I ran `git fetch` and `git checkout v4.3.3` again after stashing the changes I made to enable a higher char limit, and precompiled the assets. So I'm now using Mastodon as it was intended. Longer form content will have to go into a blog post -- probably where it ought to be, anyway.
The performance of my instance seems better, for now.
I don't want my 2.6K posts to go away, though.
Mastodon has been sluggish for me lately. Like as I'm typing this post in the web UI, there is a delay in between entering the keystrokes and the text appearing on the UI. Also when I share photos, the UI is slow to respond and it takes a while for the file manager to appear for me to select the image file. Refreshing the reloading the timeline also takes a while. This seems to have started when I updated to v4.3.3.
I'm not sure how to debug this, and I'd be happy to do so, but I kinda want to avoid the possibility for this to ever be an issue in the first place. So I'm considering migrating to something more lightweight, like Pleroma/Akkoma or snac.

Everyone, I got new socks! Now my feets feel real fresh 😁
@RikerGoogling I don't. I don't prefer to have any facial hair these days. In fact, I'm interested in permanent facial hair removal procedures. I'm trying to reduce the amount of upkeep my survival and well-being requires. I don't want to waste spoons on goddamn frivolous hair follicles every other day.
