For those of you upstanding folks who favour #Lemmy (and variants) over R*ddit, I've created an Improvised Music community over on Piefed.
A group for sharing news, discussions and reviews about all forms of improvised music.
Use a ! before the @ of the group name and the post will not be boosted.

@rtn @ExperimentalMusic @improvisedmusic @electronicmusic I use drones but rarely drones only. My makertube has sadly not had much posted to it recently!

It's time to overthrow the rich - the few who control the lives of the many. We struggle, sink beneath debt, all so they can live in luxury.
Recorded live using hardware synths. Lightly mastered on a DAW.
Eat the Rich is my new track out today and available to listen to and purchase at #mirlo, #bandwagonfm , #bandcamp and #jamcoop.
Do take a listen, like and maybe even buy...

Hi all - I have just released a two track EP called "Dustin' off the OPZ".
It’s a while since I have got out the OPZ to play with and the opportunity arose while sitting on two four hour train journeys recently.
So there are two short tracks both improvised and recorded while on the train using the OPZ and a simple Zoom recorder.
As usual a DAW was only used for final mastering.
It can be found on #bandcamp, #bandwagonfm, #mirlo as well as Soundcloud.

Please try and buy music from your favourite creators as streaming is killing independent music!
Here’s the second (of three) in Scatter Archive’s releases from the female improvising trio Tiger Milk, this time playing alone on 10 of the 14 tracks, and four alongside the formidable Alan Wilkinson on soprano saxophone:
Tiger Milk with Alan Wilkinson - Leeds [1982+1983]
This is another exhilarating set of pieces from the groupings, with over 150 minutes of live pieces spread across two gigs from the early 1980s in Leeds. Liam Stefani’s Scatter label continues to unearth such welcome, priceless treasures from a near forgotten past of improvised music.

Another fantastic new download release on Scatter Archive:
Tiger Milk with John Russell - QuaQua [1982]
These are archival 43 year old recordings of the female trio Tiger Milk in various configurations with the late legendary improvising guitarist John Russell. Recorded at the Charteris Neighbourhood Centre, Islington, London as part of Russell's QuaQua events.
Tiger Milk were
• Susanna Ferrar (violin, voice);
• Annemarie Roelofs (violin, trombone, voice); and
• Josefina Cupido (drums, voice).
The release also includes two solo sets from Russell.
Liam Stefani’s label continues to uncover amazing historic improvised music. Well worth supporting with whatever payment you can afford.

Don't forget to check out Siege Tonality, a benefit for the Community Self Defense Coalition here in Los Angeles, as we head into yet another #BandcampFriday.
This track captures a live set from a couple months back, solo alto #saxophone work that attempts to claw its way out from beneath the pile of shit that is the contemporary US American political #scene, and the abyss of racial violence that is our common history. Chipper!

Hello everyone - I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday. A few days later than anticipated I have a new track available on #soundcloud, #mirlo #bandcamp and #bandwagonfm
The track is called Geiger.
Hans Geiger was instrumental in developing radiation detectors. This track is an homage to the crackle and pulsing of a Geiger-Muller tube detector.
Generated live using a combination of tape decks, various crackles recorded on tape, a Chase Bliss Mood Pedal and a couple of synths it is a track full of experimental sounds with two distinct sections. It's twenty minutes of weirdness. 😆
The only use of a computer was in light mastering in post.
Hugs, Sammi
