As part of my agender journey, I had changed my pronouns to they/them. That transition has been quite easy.

What has been difficult is finding the word to use for what we are to someone close. In my case, my ex-husband continues to call me my kitty's daddy, which used to be accurate when I identified with a male gender. But now, I can't figure out what to replace that with.

Any suggestions on how you handled this would be great.

Now that I've found the types of clothes and accessories that make me go "oh yes, this is definitely the way I want to look like" instead of the previous "this is nice, let's go with it", I've started paying way more attention to the whole. Matching colors, testing more than one pair of earrings to make sure it fits the shirt, that kind of thing.

When I thought I was a guy I didn't really think about it. I chose the band shirt that was on the top of the pile and off I went. I very much prefer the current situation as it actually makes me feel good.

The downside is that I need considerably more time in the morning. A friend suggested I choose the outfit and accessories in the evening but that doesn't work for me as I have to go with what feels good in the moment. At least I've started to get a feeling what accessories go nicely with certain clothes.
