I say this as an American who has lived in this country my entire life, has never left this country, and whose ancestors were white colonizers on my dad’s side and Jewish farmers on my mother’s:
America disgusts me. It has brought me, a trans, autistic woman, nothing but pain. I have cPTSD from what my family did to me. I have been effectively banned from my home state because of anti-trans laws. I want to leave this stolen land and never return.
The white man did not deserve this continent.
Not everyday you learn you’re the 8th-great-granddaughter of one of the first accusers at the Salem Witch Trials and have 300+ year-old blood on your hands because of your shitty Puritan colonizer ancestors.

I am still healing, the tape still stuck to the scars on my breasts. Breasts I waited my whole life to finally feel. Waited my whole life in a country that has never wanted me and never valued me. Less than 6 days to go until top surgery. I have faced transphobia in a lengthy, brutal job search and remain isolated because I am the sole caretaker of my immune-compromised partner.
I am nearing the end of my ability to take on so much. I’m still recovering from the abuse of my family, the gulag of a warehouse I had to work in, and as a person with autism AND trust issues, it’s almost impossible for me to network successfully.

I'm so tired of not wanting to make my autoimmune disorder worse or have some other type of damage done to my body from this virus being viewed by others as irrational. What is irrational, to me, is ignoring the loads of evidence piling up that even a mild COVID infection can leave you disabled. I am sorry but I'm not going to risk my health just to make others feel more comfortable in their denial.
