Looking west along Arbour Hill in Stoneybatter. The hoot is taken from the middle of the road. A terrace of two storey houses is along the right hand side, after them is the Sorrento chipper. On the left, in the foreground, is a single storey house, beyond it a modern two storey house and older two storey houses. The street turns gently to the right off in the distance. A few people are walking along the street, and a car is pulling out of a laneway on the left. This section of Arbour faces west, it’s sunset & the clouds are being illuminated dramatically by the setting sun, with intense yellow, orange, red & pinks. A blue sky is behind this dramatic display of colour.

From a wander around Paris: the Société de Géographie was founded in 1821. The caryatids represent land and sea.

A bright blue door is the entry to the Société de Géographie on Boulevard Saint-Germain. Above the door a plaque announces the society in bright gold lettering. there also stand two caryatids that look as though they are gazing off, toward the horizon, toward an upcoming adventure.
