Everyday is s #CaturDay
Look what I got the local book shop to order me. It's so pretty on the inside.
Had to get a new phone,
Previous gen unlocked pixels can be had relatively cheap and #GrapheneOS is free and was easy enough to get up and running.

Tonight and through tomorrow, I am here. And maybe you should be too.

Wherever you find yourself in this bitter cold,
may your burning hearts keep you warm and the ice melted for better days.
when we abolish ice, we keep our rapid response groups and use them to continue keeping our neighbors safe, fed, housed, and mentally well, okay #minnesota ?
Some notes from friends otg in #Minneapolis about what's been working to defend neighbors from #ICE and what's not:
--ICE agents are getting even more angry and aggressive. Yelling and making them miserable is effective at getting them to leave, but keep your distance. Scream, holler, make a scene.
--Running from ICE works - they generally are not pursuing. This is true on foot/bike and in vehicles. If you allow yourself to be pulled over by ICE there's a good chance you'll end up with a broken window or detained.
--If you're in the streets a lot, change up your look/clothing/etc to avoid being recognized. ICE agents are also starting to recognize cars used by community defenders.
--Liberals are still telling people to stay calm, obey, etc. It doesn't work. Do not stay calm. Do not obey.
--Many businesses are keeping their doors locked, having customers knock to enter. Lots of places are closed. Neighbors who didn't know each other before are looking out for each other, even out in the burbs. We keep us safe - we're not alone, so if you can, get out there and be part of the resistance.
This morning in #Minneapolis and the surrounding #Minnesota suburbs there's been a sharp increase in #ICE abductions - breaking down doors to kidnap people from their homes, raids on restaurants, and violence against observers in south Minneapolis including breaking an observer's car window and deploying of chemical sprays.
This is 2 days after the beginning of the deployment of an additional 2,000 federal agents to the area - an intensification of the Trump admin's attacks on the Somali community here and upping of the stakes after thousands of locals have made our own deployments in the form of observers, noise demos, know-your-rights crews, and much more.
If you're in the #TwinCities area and aren't already pitching in to protect your neighbors, you need to do so: this is an escalation unlike any ICE activity seen in other cities so far. The number of homeland security agents in the Twin Cities now exceeds the number assigned to the entire state of Arizona.
If you're not local, MN needs your help. Intensify your action against la migra wherever you live; hold demonstrations against the companies that are supporting ICE (hotels, tech spy firms, defense contractors...) wherever you are. Throw wrenches in the gears. Spread them thin so they will regret their attempted occupation of this city.
Always surprised when David Yow from #TheJesusLizard shows up in a movie I decided to watch randomly.

Jumped on the self hosting thing a little while ago, and I have to say, I love having a notes app (nextcloud) that isn't CC'd to a million advertising partners.
Slowly migrating other stuff off the goog. All set to move my email domain from Google's servers to runbox, just have to have a few days of decent spoons to handle any complications.
I set up a few others already, so I'm familiar with the process now.
GrapheneOS after that.
Feels like digital emigration.
A cup of coffee and about an hour later , I successfully flashed the bios chip on my nephew’s laptop using a #CH341A programmer

Several years ago, I got myself a hand #Coffee grinder, IZPresso K Plus. It's a small thing, but the manual process of making a thing is more desirable now. Even if it's just for a cup of coffee.
With the inevitable #DryJanuary posts approaching,
rather it being a break or a vacation to be able return back from,
What if It was the start of something great.
My work has produced some truly amazing reads this year.

It's a "Fuck ICE" Solstice.
Today, the vet returned Linden’s ashes. In a wooden box.
I placed it in his favorite drawer, which has remained open awaiting his return.
I hoped it would like feel like he’s back here with us, but it doesn’t.
Grief is weird.
