Last night, I attended my first community board meeting as a resident, and so much of American democracy happens at a VERY local level. It was so fascinating to hear the discussion.

Everything from replacing the trash cans to having a plan for the city to be more environmentally friendly to preparing for floods was mentioned. Anyone can attend and ask questions, raise concerns, and have their voice heard.

We visited a textile shop in Oaxaca that uses traditional methods and natural dyes. Creating different colors from seeds, plants, flowers, and other natural things was my favorite part. It's all about chemistry.

We saw Lucha Libre in CDMX. It was a fun experience. If you watch closely you can see how they all have to work together to make sure no one gets hurt badly. That's not just acting, but the timing has to be just right with all of them.

@kakkadrupal I came to similar conclusions on Twitter a few years ago back when I was still there. Oaxaca, Lucknow, Lima, and Singapore were the four places I never had a bad meal.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There's really no such thing as a bad meal in Oaxaca. Of all the places I've visited, Mexico had the best food. Within Mexico, Oaxaca offers the best food. Even Maruchan Instant Noodles are taken to a whole new level in Mexico.

@AnirbanM we just had lunch at Casa Oaxaca and OMG it was one of the best meals I've had in my life. I had tlayuda and pulpo with Oaxacan sausage. Everything was so delicious.

Their salsa with fresh ingredients and grasshoppers was nicely spicy 😍

Dinner at Azul Condesa was amazing! Such good food. I've never had escamoles, small white ant eggs served with guacamole and tri-colored corn tortilla. The flavors came together so well. The camarones entree was also devine. They also had pulque, alcoholic beverages made from maguey plant.

We walked around Chapultepec Park, visited the Bosque de Chapultepec, and Chapultepec Castle. We ate lunch at the park then rented a row boat at Lago de Chapultepec. CDMX has been wonderful so far.

I'm perpetually hungry, so when I woke up at about 7 am. I was ready to eat. Most places were closed except Taco Naco. So that's where I had my first taco in CDMX. It's a chain in Mexico. Both al pastor and Pollo al pastor tacos were delicious.

My goal is to eat small portions at multiple places.
