@atpfm Is this the gas car review @marcoarment was trying to find? It’s the one I remembered. (Shout-out to Kagi for making it pretty easy to find when searching for “funny review of gas car”.) https://geoff.greer.fm/2023/02/08/gasoline-car-review/

@atpfm #askatp I guess this isn't a question, but I really wanted to make sure you heard this AI-generated podcast that discusses a document that just says “Poopoo Peepee” over and over again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfr4BP4V1R8
'love and respect demand that every human child be treated not as “the property of parenting adults to do with as they wish” but as their own person with their own rights. “When we love children,” hooks reminds us, “we acknowledge by our every action that they are not property, that they have rights—that we respect and uphold their rights.” '

@danvpeterson They do support mesh as well, but we found success with a single router.
@danvpeterson Only 2 floors here, but I got fed up with flaky mesh systems (tried about a half dozen and returned them for various reasons). Super happy with our single Synology router placed in the center of everything. Reaches everywhere, and I love the software. Updates itself, and I’ve never had an update break anything. It’s bulletproof, and I never even think about it, which is the highest praise I can give any tech – especially anything network related.
@Jackiemauro Haha! Yeah, we don't use tennis balls, but I do swear by our dryer balls. Me being who I am, I actually timed identical loads from one week to another, and the dry time was reduced. It also anecdotally seems to help more uniformly dry larger sheets and towels, so there aren't damp areas. It seemed like a gimmick, so I couldn't help but perform some tests. LOL
@Jackiemauro Now just put it in the dryer, and you’ve life hacked. https://www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/cleaning/laundry/laundry-hack-dryer-balls
@amanda We use “Grandma and Grandpa” and “Omi and Opi” for the grandparents. (And “Mama and Gaga” for us parents.)
@rubbs I definitely started having stronger feelings about it after becoming a parent.
this is my new favourite #website
@danvpeterson So sorry to hear! That sucks. I hope you recover quickly! 🙏 ❤️
The aesthetic 🖤
Happy Halloween :trans_heart:
If you were AMAB and want to dress as a woman, today is the day that even in the most conservative places no one will care. You could do it any day, but today is the day of least resistance from society. Skirts, dresses, makeup, just do what brings you joy, and if you need a hand with makeup, ask a friend, everyone is willing on Halloween even if you don't explain the why :trans_heart:
@MichalBryxi All typing is forward, so there’s only a need to call out when it goes against convention. Or maybe the letters should be “forward q”, “forward w”, and so on… 😅
I can't stop laughing every time I watch this. One of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. #TimRobinson #IThinkYouShouldLeave #improv #comedy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwincJggETc
🎃🏃Ran my first organized race this morning, a pumpkin run! Some people were wearing costumes, and the 3yo loved riding in the stroller for it. 😊
🏁 Finished 10k in 47:34 (7:40/mi pace), which put me at #10 for my age group among male runners and #2 for my age group among female runners. But I’m out here representin’ gender diversity, so… that made me #1 in my category. Needless to say, we were the “lead stroller” by a good margin. 😅 #running #parenting #JoggingStrolller #trans #nonbinary
One of the things I mean when I say “trans rights are human rights” is that a lot of things I want to protect for trans folks are things that benefit others more often.
For example, in the US there are fewer than 200 gender-affirming surgeries performed on people under 18 each year. 97% of those are breast reductions for cisgender boys. In fact, access to gender-affirming care of most types is used more often by non-trans people than trans people. Protecting trans folks’ access to such care benefits lots of people who aren’t trans.
Trans rights are human rights.
@heygarrett I just realized I’ve been doing a version of this for years now. It started as an “Orders” folder in my mail client. I put email receipts in that folder for things I’ve ordered but not yet received. When I receive them, I archive the email. These days I put everything I am waiting on in that folder. If there’s not already an email associated with it, I email myself and put it in there. All timestamped automatically + extra details I add as replies are threaded.
