Feeling a bit under the weather today so took a break from coding to play around with #blender instead

Meet my funky fungal trio

Shroomper (derpy one)
Doomstool (small but menacing)
Blight Baron (big bad)

Rough around the edges but these fun-guys are growing on me, rigging,detailing and texturing still to do. But for now with some base colors.

Playing with #shaders today for battle transition.

Realy need to learn a lot still but got something done.

Now have 2 options like them both. The second one is a bit more versatile because i can use a black/white image to change effect.

Yes this is still #dungeondining.

MIddle in refactoring and splitting code.

But just for this(and future) functionality i made a simple test scene playground with less distractions to try things out in.

Today detection by enemies with some debug lines.

white=unaware
yellow=noticed
orange=danger zone (stay to long and battle)
red=instabattle.

Happy to got area of view working and walls blocking your vieuw

for the #goedwaregamejam i made some sprites, because of limited time and palette, they looked too much like "papers please" for my liking.

Starting to remake some assets more in the style i want with a bit more detail and a bit more colors.

Also previous assets are downloadable on opengameart.org/content/faces-

to use as wished as i wont be needing them

Godot 4.4 beta 1 is finally here! This release had tons of editor quality of life features as well as performance improvements, we know you are going to love it. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, we added embedded game debugging inside the editor!

As i have said before i love #gamejam because of the quick prototyping and trying out things. But also happy i can now give love to my pet project #dungeondining again.

So #pixelart ed it up thought i would stop at 2646 possible faces, but continued while fixing some small issues with the parts.

11 faces
8 hairstyles
8 bodies
7 heads
Now should be able to generate 4928 funny how that works huh with just 5 extra options

Now i really will stop and focus on gameplay

Some of the faces are a bit weird, but i like it it adds to the quirkiness of the game i am making

Yesterday i started a puzzle platformer for #goedwaregamejam however i really did not enjoy the idea, and and i join for the fun.

A night sleep, a new idea and started anew.

Some initial dialog, prework on selecting "evidence"

As a "neutral" sou; You will need to send other neutral souls to heaven or hell based on evidence.

Working title "Send Dave to hell" subtitle (or not)

Also some art done, limited color pallet gives me a run for my money

So last update and that was also the end of my days off. Unfortunately will be able to do less on my game.

But at least i could finish
* Enemy detection
* Moving distance from targeted enemy
* Shader for selected enemy

Shader gave me a run for my money as it just did not want to be unique, but in the end i prevailed :)

Playing around with stuff in Godot, i needed an another light source, so made a torch and needed a fire, particles to the rescue.

When searching for a good particle texture of course i found it at kenney, always great stuff there.

Also made sure the light source actually flickers to make it feel more authentic

Daily Godot Tip #29: When using export groups you can put a slash and then another word to make the second word a subfolder (and variables afterwards in that subfolder)

You can nest as many subfolders as you want using this

Working on the battle system of Dungeon Dining, But also playing around with some environments, lights and some level design.

Also still making sure everything works with gamepads🎮 it should show the correct actions when connecting/disconnecting.
