this is the last post here, see you all again at @lw64@chaos.social !
Hi, my name is Lorenz, I am 19 years old, I do a lot of things, and I am interested in even more things :)
I am contributor to the #OpenSource Software projects #GNOME and #Vala (I am running @vala_lang) and I am GNOME Foundation Member.
I am from Berlin, but currently I am living in Phnom Penh, #Cambodia, and I am volunteering in a youth organisation here.
I am posting about these things, but I want to share other things as well.
this is the last post here, see you all again at @lw64@chaos.social !
so I guess I will for now move to chaos.social
goodbye floss.social! :)
@yon yeah, I guess it is always like that, you have the things you like, and "the rest"
If you only heared a bit about the "xz-utils backdoor", one of the most dangerous nearly successfull hacks since the internet exists, here is a video that sums it up quite nicely, for people who don't know so much about opeb source (also its german):

@RichieRich @benschwarz I wondered about that with the newspaper too once. Why is there no "Micro-Transaction"-like system yet, where maybe your time spending on news pages gets added up and you can voluntarily pay a certain amount after one year or so
@yon haha, yeah, depends on the game, but same for me, either because I enjoy it so much that I think about everything, or I am so bad at the gameplay that it takes me ages (ghostrunner...)
@yon also because imo 3 or 4 hours is perfect for a small game. after that I can switch to another if it gets boring.
@yon that is true as well, my wishlist is also full with games, I probably won't be playing, or finishing.
Recently I have started playing only demos of games, and that works pretty well. I get to know the game and how it works for a few hours (that time is already a lot to allocate somewhere), and only when I really liked it I consider to buy it.
@yon I also really enjoy narrative driven games. (and I really don't like it when the narrative is the weak point, which is so often sadly the problem)
Though most of the time these games cost money, and so far I haven't spend a lot of that :)
@yon well osu is also flood-my-brain, while you play it, but after each song you can have a break.
@yon actually I know one game where that kind of works, but not really by intention: osu multiplayer xD
the chat taking up 1/3 of the space if the UI does a lot, and also the constructive, not so competitive and very relaxed gameplay, with a lot of time to chat inbetween.
@yon I wonder if there are good mmos out there where you _can_ play on your own, together with random other people and get to know them.
@yon Or maybe even a "renting" model could work, where you always have to pay for a certain time, and then again
@yon sometimes I feel though that the same game, but without microtransactions and a buy-once model, would be great as well. multiplayer isn't bad by concept.

@yon Yess, this so much!
Though it's still a difference between Korea and China I think. A lot of these gacha games are like that because most people play them on mobile. And it seems like in Korea there is now enough of a market for pc/console games as well. I don't know how that is in china though. Black myth wukong maybe is one of the first for that too. I read it's driving playstation sales like crazy.

Oh, as a topic wanderer myself (I don’t like the word “generalist”), I love and endorse this comic.
