Fleeting conditions in between squalls often give you little time to react. I was lying in my tent patiently waiting for the light to change. Suddenly, I hear my friend yelling "Morgan! You gotta get out here!" - I quickly got on my feet and practically waltzed over to this composition I found earlier and captured this rainbow in front of Mount Macdonald.

'Rise to Action' (2023)

Soft light drapes over the mountains, their sharp ridges brushed with mist. A faint rainbow flickers against the rock face, vanishing and reappearing as the clouds shift. The alpine terrain, scattered with weathered stone and pockets of evergreens, feels caught between seasons—warm tones of autumn blending into the cool hush of approaching dusk. A moment on the edge of change, held in quiet suspension."

Frozen Giant was captured on the top of a Finnish fell in Winter last year.

There's not a lot I love more than trudging around in snow capturing beautiful frozen landscapes... and there aren't many places better for snow and ice than Finnish Lapland!

A tree has been encased in so much snow and ice that it appears to take on the form of frozen giant, with a large head, arms, and legs. The scene is pink with the late afternoon light of a Finnish Winter illuminating the scene which also includes some distant frozen trees and deep foreground snow.

A photograph from one of the most remote places in the UK, the Fisherfield Forest - about a 20km round trip hike from the nearest road. Perhaps rather alarmingly for an area named "forest", the landscape here is mostly treeless with only one tiny fragment of original woodland remaining on a steep sided mountain. A vestige of the past.

a small lochan high in the remote mountains of scotland reflects beautiful clouds and blue skies. erratic boulders are strewn across the foreground while the background features a shapely mountain with a steep and wandering ridgeline. soft evening light dances across the scene.

Eternal Growth 2022

An ancient Antarctic Beech in . These beech trees are living relics of the ancient Gondwana supercontinent, existing over 180 million years ago. When Gondwana began to break apart, fragments of its unique ecosystems were carried with it, leading to the distribution of species across the southern hemisphere. This tree is likely in the 2000+ year old range, having grown many trunks during its lifetime.

A misty forest with large Antarctic beech trees covered in vibrant green moss, creating a mystical and serene atmosphere. The dense foliage and low light add to the ethereal beauty of the scene.

Exploring underneath glaciers is addicting and exciting. Each cave is unique, you'll never know what you might find!

Fog envelopes an alpine basin, transforming it into something surreal. Every time I turned my head, it looked different.

'Witches Lair' (2023)

A quiet moment, wrapped in mist and softened by the fading light. This alpine landscape shifts with the mood of the atmosphere—clouds weaving through jagged peaks, evergreen silhouettes fading in and out of view. A tarn, ever so slightly waving in the breeze, mirrors the luminosity of the sky.

Hello Mastodon. Time for an !

My name is Alfredo and I'm a landscape from Denver, .

I have been disconnected from photography and social media for the past 6 months or so. There was a point where I wanted to sell all of my gear and walk away from it all but slowly I started to regain the feeling of reconnecting with nature. So here I am trying to reconnect with a like minded community.

Lions Mane 2024

The putting on a show over the southern most point of . I was lucky enough to see the biggest solar storm in over 20 years from here this year during a 3 month trip in . One of the most magical feeling experiences of my life. A night I wont soon forget.

Stunning view of Lion Rock in Tasmania under the vibrant green and purple hues of the aurora australis, with rocky terrain and reflective water pools in the foreground under a starry night sky.
