@artofsoulburn Using a single shader node and mixing everything before its inputs was advised to improve shader performance in Blender. I am not sure if it's optimized now or not, but by habit I still use only one shader node. (Also some baking tools used to require a single principled node, and would break otherwise)

This question came up on a discord the other day, so I made a video on adding accidental colors to a 2d painting or a 3d model to give it more life and color complexity #texturing #gamedev #animatedfilm #vfx #shading #materials #cg youtube.com/watch?v=vrWcHSd9gV

@doctormo Sure! But I think the four links on their Github github.com/creativecommons/cc- with mini draft 'key idea' for the four new licenses speaks already a lot about the intent, the philosophy behind it.
- Tailoring an attribution licence for AI giants in case they change their minds and decide to respect something.
- Believing in the royalties breadcrumb system, whereby the AI lord decides in good faith (lol, their words) who receives the financial micro-percentage income from reuse. yay.

Dear @creativecommons ,

I read your article about your initiative for new licenses for dataset holders in the AI industry.

Let’s be clear: I do not want to re-license my hundreds of CC-By comic pages to please AI giants.

I wish you would support CC artists suffering from massive plagiarism. You should enforce your own existing licenses against AI mass crawling. It seems you’ve joined the battle only after the casualties and still managed to side with the wrong people.

@flipsideza I think it has mostly to do with having intelligent upper management, who would figure out lack of proper testing to be the root cause. Also dealing with actual money makes things a bit more costly when you try to pull stunts like this.

2025-06-11

@flipsideza this never happened in anywhere I worked at. But I can totally see it happening 😄

2025-06-08

@flipsideza exact same thing with rust. If you want to use rust, you need to install rustup. Then you can simply install toolchains and everything works pretty much. By exact same thing I mean no bloat like python (or js)

@shanecelis so you just `remove` all the values, figure out the specific value you want and then `insert` them all back in?

@shanecelis she was a 6 at best.

This is an updated workflow for turning Grease Pencil strokes into a base mesh that can then be used for sculpting. The previous workflow used the Convert to Path option, which is now gone. #B3D #Blender3D #Blender

#gamedev tip.

If you're working on #environmentart for historical kits, add Archive.org to your list of reference sources. Lots of catalogues from the 1800's and early 1900's available for molding, ironworks, picture frames, etc.

Really helps pin down shapes, sizes, and proportions when things feel off in #blender.
