Yes, paint and cleaning techniques are widely used in modern movies. This saves a lot of money on set by eliminates the need to redo a take if something or someone is in the frame.

I have a lot of paint for my current film, but I haven't had a camera until now. The main task is to paint over anachronisms, some set technicians, and set gears.

This type of work is called invisible VFX. If done well, it should be unnoticeable. 😊

Watched #AvatarFireAndAsh on #imax 3D and although it felt more.like the greatest hits of the first two movies, leave it to Cameron to make a 3+ hour fulm seem.like a brisk 90 minute one. As.always the action, the visuals.and #VFX were stunning. Loved Varang #WetaFX

I just received the Tron Ares issue of the VFX Magazine Before and After. The fact that they are using the old school Cinefex format just makes my inner nerd all happy inside.

@gaghyogi49 This side-by-side is an excellent illustration of the pseudo-3D #VFX the creators attempted when filming the viewscreens in #TNG. Always appreciated the effort it would take to plan to match the camera angle when filming the bridge and the remote set.

If I recall, most of the composited view screenshots in #DS9, #VOY, and #ENT were shot head-on and avoided this kind of creativity. Now I need to watch those #StarTrek series more carefully to find the examples, if any!

I've gotten really into "VFX Artists React", lately. It is kind of fascinating.

I just watched Tron in 4K and this movie is truly magical to me. The fact that they were able to accomplish this back in 1982 still blows my mind.

We owe a lot to the trailblazers who brought us this VFX masterpiece.
