Fucking NO!, you guys - that CGI is not flawless!! ๐Ÿ™„ This is another one of those times when I disagree wildly with The Couchโ„ข๏ธ. I think VFX artists actually become desensitized to uncanny valley, like their idea of "flawless" ends up more technical than human.

The FIRST THING to rush through my head at that clip was "Hm, that's some peculiar speech mannerisms". Speaking is the glass ceiling of CGI & AI lipsync has NOT broken it.

๐Ÿ“š๏ธ Material Maker is a libre, multi-platform tool for creating procedural PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials (allows you to add relief/fine texture to a basic model via texture "painting"), based on the Godot engine. Materials are defined as graphics where nodes create or transform textures, and can then be exported to Godot, Unity or Unreal engines. It can also be used to create several types of materials, and new custom material types, as well as new export targets for existing materials, can be added if needed.

... Movie #VFX can be phoned in and often are, when timelines are compressed.

There is a bloke on YouTube who reworks effects of #movies and often they are superior to the originals, and it's not just attributable to better tech.

In one recent video he redid the "Airforce one", in the original one, the sea, the splashes were phoned in. And the dynamics of the crash was amateurish. And that is not the fault of the tech.

#Linux #VFX people. Windows 10 is whining at me to update and I have Rocky Linux onother drive ready to take over. But Rocky is such a pain, shame that so many VFX tools are based around CentOS based Linux distros.

I flguess I could run Fedora but I have been stung by updates in the past (just when everything was running just so!)
