I declined a $1,000/month ESLint sponsorship from a pay-for-follows company. That's not the type of sponsor we want. It's frustrating that these types of companies (as well as online casinos) are more willing to sponsor ESLint than tech companies where ESLint is used.

Announcing: justaqrcode.com.

Tired of "free" QR code generators that are full of ads and trackers, that share your data, and that want to sell you something? Me too. Here's my act of resistance: I made a one-page site that works entirely in your browser to generate a simple QR code. And that's all it does. You can download the HTML page and run it locally, even. Read the source; nothing up my sleeves. Just a QR code.

My offer to you -- I will continue to pay for the domain name and web hosting for it, myself. If you find it valuable, you can pay it back by creating your own useful thing for the world and releasing it for free. Let's take back the friendly web, one vexingly-monetized utility at a time!

May 2025 Release: **The Golden Age**
PHP is maturing and evolving. PHP was originally released on June 8, 1995 as Personal Home Page. It’s hard to believe that it was the community that continued driving its progress. 30 years later and we still have an amazing and thriving community.

I will be in east-sweden in July.

Are there any #PHP developers that might want to have a cup of coffee (or whatever your favourite beverage is) and a great time with likeminded people around gothenburg, udevalla or jönköping?

Apple is starting to feel a bit like Taco Bell..

Like there is nothing new.. they just keep remixing the same 4 ingredients and acting like they invented something.

@heiglandreas @evert endashes are for ranges of dates or numbers or to link two related things (replacing the word "To") like destinations "Frankfurt–Nuremberg route". Emdashes separate clauses, usually expanding on the preceding one.

@heiglandreas Looks like this was changed in PHP 8.1, according to this RFC: wiki.php.net/rfc/null_coercion which references this change: wiki.php.net/rfc/deprecate_nul

Sounds like NULL was never coerced to empty string for userland functions but internal ones did before then.

You can do `foo(null ?? '')` to get around that. More likely if a var is nullable, you'd do `foo($nullable ?? '')`

@drupal is trying to grow their audience in the #fediverse

"We're actively building presence on Mastodon and Bluesky, platforms that align with our open-source values. We’ll give it 6 months of effort and see if we can grow audiences, and then re-assess.

"If either platform reaches 5,000 followers, we’ll promote them to being a priority platform. We’d love to see them become our preferred platforms."

Hi! I'd like recommendations for a secondhand exploitable e-ink e-reader, something akin to the 2016 Kobo Aura ONE. I want to be able to sideload apps like KOreader and Plato and access the filesystem like any other removable storage.

Please retoot!
