@omgubuntu No problem.

It's been a long road, but it seems GIMP 3.0 is nearing completion, with the release of a release candidate build.
Non-destructive layer effects, GTK 3 UI (with CSD option), new colour management system, improved onboarding, and a whole lot more.

Vanilla OS 2 Released Based on Debian Sid + Android App Support
Looking for a sweet new Linux distro to try? Vanilla OS 2 'Orchid' has been released. Compared to the first first release of Vanilla OS in 2023 a lot has changed. Vanilla OS 2 is now built atop Debian (Sid). The distro announced its switch from Ubuntu last year to enable it to provide a more 'vanilla' GNOME experience, skip snap-related package swap snafus, and not be bound to Ubuntu's release schedule.

Big appreciation to all of you who follow and who like, share, and reply (even if it's to point out a typo) ✌️.
Amidst the shifting sands of AI slop, curated algorithms favouring specific types of content, and a broader shift to YouTube and Reddit for news, it often feels like blogs like mine are going the way of the elves in Lord of the Rings 🧝🏻♂️.
Your support, especially on a platform like this one, means a lot, so thank you!
@gamingonlinux Fewer humans to write articles can only mean more AI slop on the way! Awesome. Love reading banal insight-free adjective-laden predictive text content 🤖

@popey Interesting — Got a few self-esteem points back reading this! I've tried using Matrix a few times in the past but it's never been smooth — or even successful! Assumed it was a *me* problem, but hearing your experience suggests not. Matrix is clearly great — I see/hear it promoted a lot, so it can't be all bad — but there appear to be hurdles, and when you want to communicate/collab, those hurdles end up eating into would-be contributor's time.
KDE Plasma 6.0 (Wayland) is shaping up nicely. Had Beta 2 for a week now and so far, so good! 💪
