Check out this “IBM Light Projector Box” lol - actually an IBM 5162 286 on Goodwill Auctions. Current price is $181, and the auction ends on 11/17 at 7:12 PM.
This is an alt account for @cognitivegears - this account is specifically here to post retro deals I find. This started because I love to find stuff on shopgoodwill.com, but I’m not actually in the market to buy anything since I have too many projects already. I like sharing them though, especially since it goes to a good cause. This is an alt account so that you can feel free to mute this account if this is content that you don’t want to see, though I hope you check it out!

Check out this listing for an old CPM machine, an Actrix Access luggable computer bundle from the early 1980s. With an honest to goodness acoustic coupler modem. Current price: $153.22. Auction ends tomorrow (11/9) at 6:09 PM CT.
@PopeASDF Wow that’s awesome!!! It’s a shame about the price on the monitor cable, but hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy that machine for years. May I suggest creating a web browser? 🙂
Up for auction is a Compaq Portable Computer (Model 101709), going for $67 right now. Needs parts or repair, but could be a cool project. Auction ends Nov 5, so there’s still a bit of time if you're interested.
Found a listing for some kind of IBM clone - I would guess XT myself, but someone might be able to tell me better. It’s a “Mind Model AI-TB-1” computer up for auction on Goodwill. It’s untested and listed for parts or repair—starting at $13 with a little under two days left (ends Nov 5th at 5:47 PM). Might be a great project for anyone into restoration or retro tech.

Found a Vintage IBM Portable Personal Computer Model 5155 up for auction. This is the first one I’ve seen on Goodwill. Current bid is $177 with the auction ending on Nov 4. Check it out: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/214469346
Here is the second, and probably final one tonight. I’m going to work on a spreadsheet of items so I’m not posting them one at a time.
Microsoft Windows 1.03, NEW* in box - $400 OBO
The * is that the disk package has not been opened, all manuals there and the original shrink wrap is there, but it has partially opened on the top. Check out the pictures.
For this one I’d still prefer Saint Louis but if you want me to ship it we can figure out shipping cost.
Ok, so I made a hard decision to start selling some of my retro collection. I love the whole collection, I just don’t have time for some of the stuff to do more than sit there.
First up is a Vectrex, along with 2 games, a multicart, a couple of overlays and a PiTrex. Asking $500 for someone that can pick it up in Saint Louis, MO. I don’t want to ship, but will consider it if I don’t get any pickup offers. Please send me a message if you are interested, first local wins.
@cenbe Thanks! Some fun books in there 🙂 Looks like a neat language, I wish I had learned it back in the day.
@nafmo @internetarchive Interesting! I was in high school around then, but we did basic on the Apple IIc. It would have been fun to play around with something like Comal though, looks like it was more capable and probably was a better teaching language.
Another interesting one: Found a Zenith Z-170 luggable from 1985 up for auction on Goodwill, and they show it running! Currently at $156 with a couple days left to bid from this posting. Auction ends 10/31 at 3:04 PM. Also I think it’s super cool that it has the original sales slip from 1987 for $1837.81 (about $3400 today)

Anyone here near Indianapolis? I found a Vintage Tandy TSR-80 2000 Computer Lot on Goodwill’s auction site. It’s sitting at $52 right now, with about 14 hours left to go as of posting. Looks to be a complete lot with monitor, keyboard and printer as well as some manuals.
Edit: just to be clear, this is a pickup only item in Indianapolis, IN.

Found a Comal 80 cartridge for the Commodore 64 on Goodwill’s auction site. If you’ve used it before, please share some info - I hadn’t heard about this one before I ran across this. Current bid is $43, and the auction ends in about two days (October 30).
IBM Personal Computer XT up for auction—$21.99 currently, with a few days left to bid. This classic was a big part of early PC history, first released by IBM in 1983. Listed as parts or repair, and judging by the hard drive platters exposed it definitely needs at least a new drive. On the plus side, it was tested and inspected by “A-H” on 7/3/86. 🙂 Ends Oct 29 at 5:11 PM. Check it out at: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/213908073
Found a classic PC game: "Pirates!" by MicroProse. The current bid is at $21, and the auction ends on 10/25. Check it out: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/213378549

@tommythorn @bitsplusatoms I have the opposite problem myself - I’d love to play with a BBC micro, spectrum, etc.
@bitsplusatoms Awesome! I hope you love it. I don’t have a IIC myself, though I do have a IIE that I am having a lot of fun with. Please post some pics when you get it!
Found a Palm Pilot IIIxe on Goodwill for $7.99 currently. Ends in about a day and a half. Released in early 2000, this was one of the last in the Palm III series, with 8MB RAM and a 160x160 screen. Back in the day you weren’t a true geek if you weren’t rocking one of these on a belt holster (probably next to your pager 🙂).
