A couple of #redtailedhawk scoping out some food on our walk. Did you know most of the #eagle cries you hear in movies and TV are actually the cry of a Red-Tailed Hawk? These guys are pretty common around here, but I never grow tired of seeing them. This is 30x zoom on my S23 Ultra.

Even though it's not always what I want to hear emotionally, it gives me a lot of context on how the law actually works (or in some cases, doesn't). It's like #snowyplover on the #beach, not weird, just f***ing cute-iful. Hundreds of these little guys along the #ventura #california coastline in areas where their habitats are #protected from trampling. They nest directly on the sand, making their nests very susceptible to human activity. Definitely one of the most adorable beach birds around these parts.
