I had the opportunity to witness an internet without algorithmically curated content, hatred, and bigotry.

When social media came, it promised us a better version of what we had, but instead it turned into a well oiled machine to spread hatred, bigotry, ads, and creating echo chambers by using algorithmic content rather than promoting diversity of opinions and supporting healthy discussions.

I would like to introduce you to "Vibe Management". Give in to the vibes, and embrace exponentials. It's like management, but not really. You just see stuff, copy stuff, and paste stuff, and it mostly works!

Despite the fact we have autopilot in airplanes, nobody claims to replace pilots. Despite the fact that cars have some autopilot capabilities, there are no widespread calls to replace drivers. Surgeons use hi-tech machine to operate, but we don't hear them being replaced.

Then how come the respect for software engineers is so low that every new hype-tech is deemed to replace us?

@jmb I have a tiny Lenovo ThinkCentre I use for my non critical stuff, you can get one with PCIe slot where you can put a 2/4 Ethernet port card.

But I want instead to get an Intel N100/N150 mini pc (plenty on aliexpress) to run critical stuff like DNS/Network Controller/VPN.

I honestly don't know how people can say that #AI elevates their development skills 10x. It's so fucking frustrating rephrasing the same thing over and over again, while walking in circle with a context window of a fish.

By now, I'm almost certain that most people who claim to have "10x improvement" by #AI, are indeed junior or copy-paste type of developers.
