I sometimes dip back into my Cognissart Meta accounts (I still post sporadically). I don't spend a lot of time there, but have noticed a significant difference in my feed. Insta and Fb is full of pictures of the maker, selfies abound and lots of "look at me" alongside the artwork. I have a feeling this is driven by makers "working the algorith" but I'm interested to find out if fedi users want to see the maker or if (like me!) they prefer to see the artwork

#ecofreak in me is getting sad everytime i see yet another fancy cardboard box of gpu, headset, kettle, etc. i wonder how much resources were spent on tons of paint for a box which is going to garbage dump right after unboxing.
thats why this stupidly simple box makes me happy. its russian brand of very cheap electric stoves called 'zlata'.
brand logo, qr, basic info. thats it. the rest is pure cardboard, which goes to recycling.
btw these heating spirals are easily replaceble when burnt out.

I don't know what it is about photogrammetry that invokes a warm and fuzzy feeling inside me. I guess I just like capturing real things and seeing them in 3d.

I was playing Battlefield 6 when I found a map on the Brooklyn/Dumbo map and it looked a lot like OpenStreetMap. Link to the area for comparison: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/40.69782/-73.99545

So I went to the credits for the game and lo and behold, they did use OSM and gave credit! That's real cool!

If you mapped this area then you maybe should put this in your résumé? Or feel pretty proud at least. 😅

They obviously used it for this texture but I wonder if they also used it as a rough guideline to start with when they hand crafted this map and maybe others maps.

unexpectedly also got blender 5.0 with vulkan backend mostly working on rk3588 mnt pocket reform (custom build from git with very light patching, with current mesa compiled from git)

but. here is another guy, also from hardlimit. i get notifications from his channel, if i put a like on the video, it is also counted on original instance. the number of views and numer of videos seems same to me.
why everything is fine with this one? how does it work?

im trying to stay in touch with liblast game development updates by @unfa (sorry for ping, but please take a look).
1st pair of screenshot shows i wrote a comment. comment is not displayed on the original #peertube instance. the number of views is shown differently on makertube. i dont get any notifications on new uploads.
2nd pair of screenshots shows i don't even see all the liblast vids on #makertube .

just installed a new keyboard version 1.5, customized with kailh choc sunset switches, in my personal pocket reform. also testing the "bazaar" app store, which is great! (sudo apt install bazaar)
