@DrewCommins I think in central Europe it is roughly as popular as it was 15 years ago, if not even more popular.
Father of two, married, researcher. Bookworm, coffee addict, and working on my relationship with alcohol.
Hard to label. A bizarre blend of #christianity, #deism, #stoicism (not to be confused with pop-stoicism), zen and/or secular #buddhism, and whatever else makes sense that day. Master of overthinking.
He/him, thirty-something. Europe.
I follow back (except bots).

Massive respect to his efforts so far. 🙏
@epicdemiologist Exactly. I just hate it.
Just finished We Were Made for These Times: Ten Lessons for Moving Through Change, Loss, and Disruption by Kaira Jewel Lingo (2021).
Simple and pleasant reading, and I believe it was written from the heart. However, it wasn’t quite my cup of tea. To me it felt a bit bland, and I didn’t really learn anything entirely new.
@ollej It’s a nice one!
My son got his flu vaccine yesterday. It was a nasal spray, so there was no pain at all, and it was actually quite fun for him. And we even managed to get to nursery afterwards.
It cost around €30, and part of it will be covered by our insurance.
@bleeptrack Really cool!
@wist I am reading Meditations right now!
@bud_t We have Krups Sensation C50 and I can recommend.
@miffyhelen I never understood how my wife was able to introduce herself and sign with her new name right after the wedding. I mean, it is November and I'm still having trouble getting used to the fact that it's already 2025...
@alloalli @mrpjevans Probably except North Korea 🙂
@mjack Looks cool!
@AeonCypher Not sure about Holiday, but the description fits Peterson, Musk, and Tate perfectly. Predatory capitalism without rules and basic empathy is really not something I would consider #stoicism. I don't think the goal of stoicism is to turn you into a heartless, highly functional sociopath. But modern pseudo-stoicism sometimes manifests itself that way.
This is the first time I've heard Yarvin being associated with stoicism. And I don't know the others - seem to be some manosphere madmen.
@IPXFong I think I had something similar with Bedouins in Jordan!
@orchun Hmm, I have tried many of them and my answer is... Fedilab 🫣
1. An unexpected success at work,
2. Lunch at a Buddhist restaurant,
3. Did some stretching.
@IPXFong What is cowboy coffee? 😀
@miffyhelen His books are excellent! I read Mythos and Heroes.
1. Strong homemade ginger syrup as protection against the autumn weather,
2. After quite a while, I finally had some time to work on my research paper,
3. The halloween pumpkin is almost ready; our older kid helped with that.
