WONDER WHAT THE MAN IN HAT AD THINKS ABOUT (Eight frames of a well-dressed 1920s man, jacket, tie, pipe in mouth, and the hat on his head. His eyes gaze at us with half-lidded satisfaction, a quiet smile on his lips. Same pose in each panel.) Every year this time I show up in a nice fuzzy felt hat. I'm supposed to be the last word in appearance. The artist that draws me always puts a pipe in my mouth which gives me that English look. It also shows I'm a regular guy, a "man's man." And my SHIRT! Oh-h boy! Between you and me I think this lid is a little too large. It's a nice-feeling hat, though and I feel pretty comfortable. Of course YOU may go and buy this very hat but you'll not look the same as I do. Because you're not quite so good to look at as me. Please don't let ME influence you into buying the hat. Next spring I'll be here again in a straw hat. Life is a constant round of hats for me.
