I started to do some beaded wire crafts for a semi-traditional Swedish folk head piece, a Lad.
This is so much fun to fiddle with and I will definitely be making more of these little wands. I wonder what else this could be used for!

A chandelier earring and coordinating rainfall necklace. The earrings are made with 20g Antique Bronze finished copper and finished with dangle chains made with 2x3mm rondelle beads that shift from dark purple to clear AB. The necklace is made with 8/0 and 11/0 seed beads and with matching rondelle beads.

A 5 metre high frame of black metal rises like an arrowhead from a red-brown path. Balanced on its tip is a horizontal black bar, and from the bar are hanging, to the left of centre, a flat black form (far left) and a red form. In the foreground, a sea-green tiled pool, square in form, of which we see three sides. From this extends a canal, ending where a short cascade enters it in the middle distance. Beyond this a flatly trimmed green hedge appears to support an enormous kinetic sculpture standing in front of a pinkish-red two-storey building in a modernist / art deco style. Paths of reddish stone flank the waterways, with lawns and trees to the far sides. Two more abstract sculptures of dark metal sit, one middle right, the other far left, on the grass

The upper two thirds of this image are ceiling. The room is white, but darkened by blinds so it appears dusk-like. From the ceiling and in front of a wide window hangs a kinetic sculpture comprising 20-30 flat black abstract forms of various sizes.

Brilliant exhibition of Alexander Calder kinetic sculptures, wire works and paintings at Serralves in Porto.

Calder's work is shown together with some by his great friend Joan Miro.

I've never seen his wirework pieces before. How the viewers movement changes their form is... wonderfully cubist.

This one dates from 1929.

My #jewellery making actually began with #wirework.

It’s a way of making things stick together with the use of pro quality craft wire, with beads usually made of glass, metal and stone.

These earrings pictured are some of the things I’ve made. I’ve got more of an artisan style so I’m not everyone’s cuppa, but that’s okay :) I like being a bit different. Hopefully my patrons do, too.

I loved the blue and black one too much to let it go and it's got some small imperfections, but the other pieces would be a lovely addition to a #cosplay or for daily wear! I've really enjoyed doing this new work and hope to do more. ☺️
