Pretty sensational stuff, if you ask me! The A1200.net folks had an uphill struggle with this project, when the pandemic hit. But in the end they delivered. I know some backers have been unhappy with the delays, but when you pledge for something like this there’s always a risk. It’s a labour of love for a small group of enthusiasts. Working on some music stuff, thinking of algorithms that might work nicely on an #Amiga #A500 or #A500Plus (currently implemented in C on a modern machine, but it uses 16bit integer maths for the most part, probably needs optimisations to replace divisions with faster things).

There are 3 tables of 16384 signed 8-bit audio data, which get repeatedly filtered in-place by some hacky moving average stuff while they are played in a loop.

For the final version I'll probably end up reimplementing it in inline-assembler in Amiga E.

dismantled my #amiga #a500plus to find out that the clock battery has leaked and caused some corrosion near the Gary chip, very similar to https://hackaday.com/2019/01/25/resurrecting-an-amiga-500/

I don't have the tools to repair it, unfortunately :(
