Привет, меня зовут Айдар, я занимаюсь исследованиями в области машинного обучения и ИИ в AIRI и МФТИ. В январе этого года я впервые побывал на конференции AAAI в Сингапуре — и должен признать, что такое большое мероприятие (по крайней мере, с точки зрения числа участников) я посещаю впервые. Хочется поделиться с вами впечатлениями от этого масштабного события, а также рассказать про тренды и интересные доклады, которые я там послушал.

@ASegar There are multiple #AI professional societies and have been since the 1970’s. The main international AI society is: Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (#AAAI). There are also important AI societies under the auspices of #IEEE such as the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and the IEEE Computer Society. Under the #ACM Association for Computing Machinery is #SIGAI Special Interest Group on Artificial Intelligence. These are just three of the oldest, well-established professional societies with significant international membership. There are dozens of the smaller societies and interest groups associated with every major topic in AI, such as machine learning, and with virtually every scholarly and engineering discipline.

@krismicinski Oh wow. In my pile of around 12 papers for AAAI (I'm senior PC) I missed about 9 (out of 36) reviews yesterday (12h before the AoE deadline just now) from regular PC members. Extrapolating to 23,000 papers / 69,000 reviews, people are trying to upload 17,000+ reviews as we speak ...
Reviewing for AAAI 2026, which has some mind blowing stats:
- 29,000 submissions, 6,000 desk rejected, 23,000 under review
- 20,000 submissions from China (AAAI will be in Singapore)
- 75,000 unique authors
- Top topics: Vision (10K), ML (8K), NLP (4K)
- 28,000 PC members (reg., senior, area chairs)
Wow. AAAI 2026 is running a pilot “AI-Assisted Peer-Review Process”. Besides regular reviews, each paper will receive one extra LLM-generated review. No scores, but visible to reviewers and authors.
I take it that as an AI conference, AAAI was eager to try this out. Not looking forward to writing the author response to an LLM’s opinion on my paper, though. Also not sure how this will help reviewers.

@emoryr @zyz There are dozens of potential vectors for malicious attack on #AI systems. I worked on autonomous systems that draw on a variety of AI technology capabilities; more vulnerable than most AI apps. Link is preprint of my paper for #AAAI Spring Symposium 2015. It kicked off a spirited discussion; one guy actually kicked a chair at me!
