Anthropic pushes into financial analysis with AI
> AI company Anthropic is shaking up the next industry – this time „Claude“ is taking on corporate data, mandatory communications, and market information.
> In the race for AI developers, OpenAI rival Anthropic is expanding the capabilities of its Claude software to other areas. With the new version Opus 4.6, Claude should also be able to take on tasks of financial analysis.
> For this purpose, Claude evaluates company data, mandatory communications and market information, as Anthropic explained. The goal is to create detailed financial analyses – tasks that would normally take a person several days to complete. Opus 4.6 is also said to be more powerful in a number of other work-related features, including creating spreadsheets and presentations, and software development.
> Shares of financial analysis companies recorded significant price losses after the introduction of the new AI software. Factset Research Systems lost up to 10% at times, while S&P Global, Moody's and Nasdaq also fell significantly.
> The Claude manufacturer's expansion beyond pure programming has recently unsettled Wall Street. The silent release of a tool to automate certain legal work contributed to a trillion-dollar market-wide slump this week – especially for software stocks that investors fear could become obsolete in the long run due to AI.
