@cathywilcox as always very good and very much on point Cathy 👏

"At home kitchen scene: Parents sitting at the table on their phones say 'Immigrants are causing the housing crisis, the environmentalists want to ruin our lifestyle, and our children's minds have been poisoned by woke!'
Daughter walks in saying 'Omigod Mum, put that thing down - can't you see what it's doing to you?' "

If you post images of animals, please use a DNA scanner that will add the binomial species name to the #Alttext.

Spending winter with my van in sunny San Diego until the next thing happens! Feels like Eden.

A blue sky sunny day, brunette Lucy LaRue in dark floral overalls with a yellow crown of fall leaves in her hair holds a red leaf out to you, its fronds covering half her smiling face as she looks at you while sitting on the grass in front of her white sprinter van, her leg extended toward you, the sole of her Keen brand hiking boots facing the camera, supporting her leaf arm.

Currently, I use #AI to generate #altText for my photos.

It is quick. It is easy.
It is lazy.

TBH I feel sorry for those who rely on alt text and now have to put up with the generic, bland, cookie-cutter and sometimes BS descriptions that AI is proliferating.

Note to self: don’t use AI to generate alt text.

I just realized the true benefit of hiding posts without alt text: I can more easily evaluate how much of a repeat offender an account is when doing a pre-follow media tab check this way. (Or post-follow evaluation. 🤔)

PS: writing #AltText is healthy for your brain 🧠

Cropped screenshot of the media tab on someone's profile but it's just a stack of 6 messages saying, "Filtered: No alt text available" beside matching buttons labeled "Show anyway".

A color photo of a calico cat. She is lying on her back, playfully twisting on a textured gray carpet. Its fur features a mix of orange, black, and white colors and she has pretty green eyes looking up at the camera.

North Head Light, 65 feet and first lit in 1898, on a gray rainy day for

A tall white lighthouse on a bluff above the ocean, a support building at its base and its circling light captured lit up by the camera. White waves can be seen on the
ocean and the concrete footing of the light is wet with rain.

Fall sumac kaleidoscope.

Aside from the interesting patterns, my favorite part of making these is looking for faces or creatures which you don't see until the composite is formed.

Do you see the pigs on their tippy toes?

#PhotoHour #abstract #AbstractPhotography #nature #Photography #AltText

Abstract photograph created using a single photo of fall sumac leaves and sumac branches. The sumac leaves extend along either side of a slender branch. Fall sumac leaves range from red to orange to yellow and in various combinations of those three colors. The photo is created by copying the original and then flipping the copy horizontally. The original and the copy are joined at the flip point and then both are copied, flipped vertically, and the resulting copies are then joined at the flip point. The result is four-quadrant image with each quadrant a mirror of the quadrants opposing it. The appearance is similar to what one would see in a four-mirror kaleidoscope. In addition to the realistic objects in each photo, the process creates multiple abstract objects especially at or near where one photo attaches to another.

Unrelated. I updated my Moshidon & am now using their optional built-in feature to filter out all posts with images that don't have any #AltText added. My joyscrolling factor has increased by using this 😊
