Das 1905 auf der Halbinsel Andrejsala eröffnete elektrische Kraftwerk wurde im technischen Büro des Münchners Oskar von Miller (1855-1934) geplant. Ausführender Architekt war Carl Johann Felsko (1844-1918); es war zur Errichtungszeit das größte Kraftwerk des gesamten Baltikums [1].
