I just realised my plans for a Fat Elf cosplay may not mesh well with my plans to bike between Uppsala and Närcon/Linköping. Either I burn too many calories and become a Formerly Fat Elf, or I won't be able to pack the costume. I can't believe this haven't occured to me earlier, but - yeah - thrilling development ahead.

Losgezogen bin ich um mir die sagenumwobenen Posca Stifte zu holen. Mir wurde im Laden aber von Problemen mit den Stiften und Hersteller berichtet weshalb sie stattdessen PINTOR im Sortiment haben.
Ich war neulich schon wieder shoppen. Gegen den Winterblues.
Diesmal im lokalen Fachmarkt für Kunstbedarf 🥰.
Mega gut ausgestattet und mit freundlichen Menschen, die einer Künstlerin bei der Entscheidung helfen, welche Acrylmarker sie kaufen soll. 🥰

When I emphasize the slowness of my work process, I don't mean that I rest on my laurels and do nothing... /let's say it like that in English... The process is ongoing all the time; sawing the wooden bases, sanding, finishing the edges, priming with gesso, attaching the hanger and only then do we get to the actual painting. In this picture, that round birch plywood has been sanded and is waiting for the first layer of gesso to dry. I usually apply 2-3 coats of primer depending on the situation. Of course, you can do other work while it's drying... ✌️☺️🥰

Koko ajan on prosessi käynnissä; puupohjien sahaaminen, hiominen, reunojen viimeistely, pohjamaalaus gessolla, ripustuksen kiinnitys ja vasta sitten päästään itse varsinaiseen maalaamiseen. Tässä kuvassa tuo pyöreä koivuvaneri on hiottu ja se odottaa ensimmäisen gessokerroksen kuivumista. Laitan yleensä 2-3 pohjustusta tilanteen mukaan. Kuivumisaikana voi tietenkin taas tehdä muita hommia... ✌️☺️🥰

I’m volunteering today for art check-in at my local art co-op gallery for the next show. I get to see all the artists who bring in their work for the exhibition—all deeply creative locals just trying to express themselves.
I have a lot of fun doing it. It gets me out of my head. I get to interact with real people. We all joked and laughed so hard last time I did this! Of course, most of them have known each other for years now, so it was like a friendly meetup. It was a wonderful experience!
Afterwards, I’m joining a fellow artist friend tonight for a drink at a local inn’s lounge, which has a yummy comfy interior and a fire place. And we’ll talk about art and life, and share our anxieties and laugh with each other some more.
It should be a good day!
Your random reminder that snow isn't always featherweight niceness. It's just as often waterlogged fondant that hits like a sandbag. Some of it just fell from my roof, and it sounded like someone was trying to pound their way through the wall.
