Gestern das Musical "Cabaret" im Opernhaus von #Chemnitz mit #audiodescription erlebt. Das Team von "Hör mal"-Audiodescription hat vorher noch eine Tastführung auf der Bühne organisiert damit wir #Blinden uns einen Eindruck von den verschiedenen Räumen machen konnten, in denen die Szenen spielten. Das Musical war sehr beeindruckend und erscheint leider so furchtbar schrecklich aktuell... just watched the graduate for the first time with #AudioDescription and very glad I did. isn't normally my kind of movie, always an exception to every rule plus it has given me a question or two for next Friday's quiz.
I'm very impressed with whoever made the Wakanda Forever DVD. Before you get to the menu there's two options: English, and English #AudioDescription.

Still no _SurrealEstate_ on #torrents, so I installed the SyFy app on my phone, where it works, but I can't get to the button to speed it up to 2×, since it's at the side and the phone's navigation bar pops up instead.
Installed the app on my Onn, and it works, but there's no speed button. What is it with TV versions of streaming apps that makes them exclude the button? It's the third app I've found that does so.
Interesting bit is that _SurrealEstate_ includes #AudioDescription (is this a general requirement now?), which I tried. And which is working from a misunderstood script (if they get those), or a viewing error. Roman and Sarah are trying to get a ghost to move on so they can sell the haunted house that a young couple regrets having bought.
They initially think the spirit is the wife who died mourning her husband, who himself died in a fire at his factory. Turns out that it's their housekeeper, whom the robber baron got pregnant, then killed and stuffed up the chimney. The audio description keeps saying "Luke watched the dead wife" and "Luke hands the wife her husband's urn".

I've noticed that, in more recent documentaries, there seems to be a tendency toward not only informality and a horrible lack of RP in both the narrators and the audiodescribers (most of these shows are from the BBC), but toward adding the experience of the cameramen, narrators, etc. I don't mean at the end, where they explain how they filmed a particular sequence, but throughout an entire documentary. Sometimes, it makes sense and is interesting. But sometimes, it's distracting, especially when I just want to be immersed in the world of nature. Fortunately, I found an older series, called Walking with Beasts, that I hadn't watched yet. In the version that I have from Audiovault, both the narrator and the describer speak in a beautiful form of RP. It is such a relief to hear such wonderful speech. If anyone can recommend a narrator or audio describer whom I would appreciate, either from the past or the present, I would sincerely appreciate it. Sadly, the few good describers I found don't ever say their names, so I have no idea who they are.
