Your website currently has a misleading link (and its affecting us being able to recommend ur tools).

Your dedicated Authentor app on the "Bitwarden Authenticator' page, has a Download it today button at the top of the page > That SHOULD take folks to the Authenticator download links (like at the bottom of the page), but instead it takes people to download the FULL Bitwarden Password Manager software.

Currently we're having to recommend folks use an alternative service as this is coming across as sneaky and dirty tactics. Really hoping it was unintentional. Regardless, pls fix so that this link takes ppl to download the tool they are expecting.

We were hoping to recommend ur service at our upcoming Digital Lounges, but we only endorse the most ethical open providers and stuff like this is the stuff the community notices.

One of the most important functions on my computer is the GNOME #Authenticator app. Without it I cannot even access many of the services I use daily. I need to reinstall my #NixOS machine to move to #flakes and clean up some messy command-line installs. Is there a way to restore the authenticator app after reinstall so it works for all services, without having to revisit each site and re-enroll the #2FA manually? Can this be achieved via a flake that manages #secrets? #authenticatorapp

Als mein Handy letzte Woche kaputt ging, habe ich vorsorglich direkt in den Microsoft-Einstellungen einen zweiten Weg für die 2FA konfiguriert.

Der wird mir jetzt aber nicht angeboten.

Stattdessen komme ich von

direkt zu:
"Geben Sie den Code ein, der Ihnen in der #authenticatorapp angezeigt wird."

Thanks everyone for all the recommendations! The reason I wanted to stop using Authy was because they were breached last year and they're also closed-source.

If someone is thinking of moving away from Authy the following seem to be the most-liked on Fedi, going by the replies: Ente, Aegis, FreeOTP+ and 2FAS. All of them are free and open source.

Ente Auth is already proving to be a way better app than Authy. No phone number needed, ability to hide the token when you open the app to prevent shoulder surfing. Passkey support, import/export, minimize app on copy....

Highly recommended...
