@truls46 In the GDR I could listen to #BASICODE broadcasts - but my humble Z1013 did not support it, so I was a bit jealous of KC 85/x owner, who were able to record the sounds and load the programs into their machines.
Although, since the broadcasts were introduced with a short description of the software, I knew I did not miss much ;)

@Wintermute_BBS I recall an article about #BASICODE for the #commodore #C64 published Back in the 80s. There were such things as BASICODE radio broadcasts which you could record to tape and then load into your homecomputer. What completely blew my mind were thin plastic records (as in "record player") which were added as supplements to magazines - required you to connect the record player to the tape port. I guess that's peak geekdom.

One of the more successful attempts to "standardize" #BASIC was #BASICODE.

reminds me of the #BASICODE for #MSX pressed on flexydisk that was supplied with Dutch MSX Computer Magazine number 16 from page 49 on.
