and the citation given is to the abstract of a conference presentation which ACTUALLY says the author reviewed 95 studies for "neurotoxic effects of microplastics on other species, including fish, mice, mollusks, nematodes, crustaceans and chicken" not to find fricken autistic crustaceans but to find neurotoxicity.
But autism definitely isn't neurotoxicity in general, and probably isn't in any specific way.
So what we're left with is an observation of 5x ASD and plastics exposure on Guam. Is it not likely that whatever societal changes increased plastic use to skyrocket 5x also caused other seismic shifts in behaviour and exposure and - dare I guess - autism testing?

[P] Also, I still hold that atheism doesn't reflect a more intelligent mind as—in the ansence of evidence—the only intellectually honest answer is "I don't know." The claim that "I know" in lieu of evidence is an intellectually dishonest position. This is akin to dark matter, hence why MoND keeps trouncing it as dark matter is founded in faith and cult of personality. "We don't know" is a fact in the absence of evidence. And we should focus on evidence.

This study brought MoND into a clarity that dark matter lacks. In reading the article and comments, vis-a-vis dark matter there's a lot of talk of religion, stories, and foibles. I love a good story more than most, but proofs SHOULD NOT require stories. It's a very lemming thing to want to shallowly, reductively, romantically storify everything.
[P] The reproducibility crisis afflicting all fields of science is a bit telling, isn't it? I lay this at the feet of lemmings and their need to "fit in," even fitting in with exceptionally bad ideas so long as their influential leadership has "the rizz." I swear, charisma and lemmings wanting to "fit in," I can't think of anything that's poisoned humanity more. The species should be past this kind of tribalism by now, shouldn't it?

[P] I see a lot of compelling evidence for MoND vs. dark matter, which manages to still have nothing going for it even after all this time. So what keeps dark matter alive? A very zealous church with a lot of bullies. I mean, that's all I can see. We should be searching all available avenues equally for further evidence, but the Church of Dark Matter is influential, so... we're not doing that. It seems a bit silly, I think.

[P] If one has evidence? One needn't bully. If one has no evidence, one should seek evidence rather than bullying. The superior numbers of lemmings being used to silence others isn't science, but all too often that's exactly what we're seeing. There's evidence that suggests we shouldn't throw out the expanding earth theory just yet, so should we just because it isn't hip with the lemmings? That doesn't sound very scientific.

[P] I feel a differentiating factor of science and the greedy desperation of faith is "fitting in" and its zealotry. I feel lemmings have tainted science, that way. In my opinion, evidence can speak for itself. In the absence of evidence? You have belief. Now, one may wish to prove this belief—and there're scientists who'll seek evodence to do so. And then there're lemmings who'll weaponise "fitting in" and "the rizz."
