#Bankshot

Covering these very shapely antique pocket irons with leather was a challenging custom job for the #Bankshot team. The irons had a patent number, so I played billiard historian for the customer, whose table didn't have a nameplate. Now we know the maker was the Minn Billiard Co. of #Milwaukee and the table dated between 1914, the patent year, and 1918 (they weren't in the 1919 city directory).

Closeup of a rusty corner iron for an antique pool table, along with an old leather cover that was removed. The iron looks like a capital U, but the ends flare out like a fan, and these fans would cover the entire width of the table rails at the corner taper, for stability.Screen capture of an advertisement from the 1912 Milwaukee, Wisconsin Business Directory as follows:

First catch of the season. The water in the Chattahoochee was murky last night. I think the Lake Lanier is turning over? I also did not see any fish feeding on the surface I tied on a #10 (ish?) bright pink jiggy marabous streamer. Ended up finding trout stacked up next to the bank. They were striking my fly as soon as it hit the water. Had a couple of strikes, but it has been too long since I had a nice fish on the line. I only managed to land one brown trout. I was set up to swing wet flies with my OPST shooting head, but this was definitely a bank-shot style catch.

A brown trout caught on a bright pink lure. It is in the water.Post sunset glow over a river. Mostly dark blues and yellows. A little bit of red/pink reflected in some small whispy clouds. The trees and bluff on the far bank are black against the evening light.
