Re-issued in 1988 as the title track of Ferry's greatest hits collection. Most people bought the single, which did the same job.

Celebrate by listening to Roxy Music!
I usually start with the first Roxy Music album, then work my way through to Avalon - including the live album, "Viva Roxy Music!" after the fifth album, "Siren."
(Although starting with "Avalon" and working backwards is a reasonable approach.)
If you have never listened before, I do recommend listening to all the studio albums at least once - you're very likely to find one or two that you enjoy. The first two are very arty, the middle three rock, and the last three are smooth and sophisticated.
However, if you think you only have time one Roxy Music album today, I will suggest "Siren" - which is my favorite Roxy Music album.

"Which Way To Turn" (1994): That desperate #falsetto just oozes chilly alienation - something underscoring so many later #BryanFerry recordings. Reminds me a bit of #DavidSylvain’s late 80’s solo work, a good thing in my #NewRomantic book. And the £5000 suit I'm imagining Bryan's wearing? It looks impeccable as always.

This morning I did a bit of research on Roxy Music because, while I am aware of their influence, I don't actually know much more than their US hits.
Things I have learned:
- Their first album was back in 1972!? That's earlier than I thought. Also at least 1 or 2 tracks felt very proto-punk, which was surprising.
- Brian Eno was only with the band for the first 2 albums, neither of which had any songs I was familiar with going into this. Love is the Drug, Avalon, and More Than This... all of those were well after Eno had anything to do with the band.
- After RM broke up, David Gilmour (of Pink Floyd) and 2 members of Dire Straits played on Bryan Ferry's 1985 solo album Girls and Boys.
