They also reported superb results from #BlueGhost with 6 of the NASA experiments already completed and the remainder being done once the hot noon is over. Not much came out of #Athena, obviously, and they're still trying to make contact with the Lunar Trailblazer - no indication of the hope level ...

This is Intuitive Machines' #IM2 lander that once again toppled over after trying to land on Mons Mouton near the lunar south pole.

The picture had lots of detail hidden in the shadows which I brought out in processing.

one thing i'm kinda curious about is that we've had several commercial lunar landers tip over on touchdown, leading to an early death, and like, this feels like a solved problem with the way several Mars missions were landed with the flower petal deployment method. we just ignoring that?

After a successful launch on Feb. 26, 2025, Intuitive Machines’ IM-2 mission is headed to the Mons Mouton region near the Moon’s South Pole the Moon. .. maneuver that fine-tunes the lander’s trajectory toward the Moon. Intuitive Machines plans to continue refining Athena’s trajectory ahead of lunar orbit insertion, planned on March 3.
