Versuche gerade meinen #CPC664 mit einem #Gotek #Floppy #Emulator auszustatten. Habe die letzten paar Tage deshalb fleißig #FreeCAD genutzt und eine Halterung entworfen. Jetzt muss nur noch der Deckel passen und die Tastaturfolie funktionieren (da gehen derzeit wieder einige Tasten nicht 😬. #Amstrad #Schneider

Today I finally replaced the drive belt of my new CPC 664. Half of the old belt fell out before I had opened the drive. The other half was still in the drive and a tiny bit was stuck to the metal. I had to scrape it off with a knife. But now the drive works perfectly. Hooray! Also all keys work without any problems.
The CPC is pretty dirty. I cleaned three keys for reference. I guess it will look quite okay when I'm done with it.

There it is. My first computer. It needs some cleaning. And some keys are really yellow but the next summer will hopefully fix that.

You guys probably know what it means that there are two drive belts on the photo. To be safe I ordered two not just one. I hope with a new belt the floppy drive will be okay. Apart from that, it seems to work so far.

In 1985 my dad bought such a CPC 664 and a year later he got himself the 6128 while I got his 664.

I'm so excited.

In 1985 my dad bought his first computer, a CPC 664. I was a teenager and it was such an amazing time with this new thing, a computer.
Shortly after we went to buy our first game, Sorcery+. Oh man, I loved this game (anyone else?).
A year later, the CPC was mine. A few years later I sold it because I wanted an Atari ST. I now wish I hadn't sold it. :( Unfortunately, the CPC 664 seems to be rare these days. But it's clear that I want one again.
