After bit of blind search I found the correct set up for #Elwro Junior 800 replica: #RGBtoHDMI with #Amstrad CPC and change od sync to V+H+

Okay, giving it a CMOS battery and feeding it 18V yields no beeping but constant LED blinking. If ONLY I knew what these meant! it kinda feels like progress but not really. I don't suppose anyone would have the list of error codes? Dare I say, a manual? #amstrad #retrocomputing #dos

Might anyone know what voltage / current the original power brick on this operated with? Bottom case says "6V" but I think that applies only to the motherboard. It does turn on* with 6V but I have a hunch that isn't enough to power the screen. Many similar computers from the era operated on 18V / 20V. #amstrad #retrocomputing

The 386 laptop I bought turned out to be a late and relatively obscure #Amstrad ANB 386SX20. However to my BIG disappointment it came basically gutted. Too bad because the notebook is really really nice. No PSU - I knew that - but there was also no FDD, no HDD, no modem. Also I think a chip is missing and I don't know what it could have been.

My hunch is this laptop died a mysterious death, whatever could be salvaged from it was sold off, and decades later someone sold off what remained.

A real pity. I was REALLY looking forward to getting back on a 386.

Logged into the #Amstrad #BBS tonight with my old PC1640. I must do this more often, as the hard disk was giving "not ready" during the boot and I had to do several power cycles / cold resets to get it to work, but once up it was OK.
