Today is #CalanMai - sometimes known as #CalanHâf - the first of May and the first day of summer in Cymru.

Traditionally, this is the day Summer and Winter fight and Summer wins, paving the way for a good harvest.

Nos Galan Haf - the night before the celebration - is one of the spirit nights, and bonfires are lit to ward against harmful spirits.
