@HauntedOwlbear The review in Cash Box (November 3, 1956) was even more enthusiastic.

#screaminjayhawkins #iputaspellonyou #okeh7072 #cashbox

“I PUT A SPELL ON YOU” (2:25)
[Sheldon BMI—SIotkin, Hawkins]
“LITTLE DEMON” (2:20)
[Black BMI—Nahan, Hawkins]
SCREAMIN’ JAY HAWKINS (Okeh 7072)

Every once in awhile something turns up for review that is completely different, unorthodox, and certain to command attention. This is the case in “I Put A Spell On You. ”Screamin’ Jay Hawkins turns in as wild a performance as you've ever heard. It is a very startling, weird, dramatic slow beat that includes every sound ever invented. It is so different it will stop the listeners cold. Watch this one very carefully. The reverse end, “Little Demon”, is a quick beat jump and Hawkins gives it another wild vocal. “Little Demon” is an ok deck, but lacks the shock that “I Put A Spell On You" hits you with.

"Never Too Much" is the debut song written, composed, produced, and performed by American singer-songwriter #LutherVandross. The R&B song was released in October 1981 by #EpicRecords, as the lead single from Vandross's debut album of the same name (1981). The title track hit number one on the US #Billboard #HotRAndBHipHopSongs chart and number four on the US Billboard #DanceClubSongs chart. It peaked at No. 27 in #CashBox and #33 on the US Billboard #Hot100.
