Monday morning is when I get distracted by the projects and other info in the @adafruit Python on Microcontrollers newsletter, which is so much more than just Python on Microcontrollers! If you have any interest in microcontrollers and fun projects, it is definitely worth signing up for it.

I wrote a bit about what I did with CircuitPython in 2025 and what I plan to do in 2026.

Good luck #CSed faculty prepping for next semester. Show me your maker closets! Here's the cart with many (although not all) of the parts I use for PhysicalComputing: Art, Robotics, and Tech for Good - the #CircuitPython course I teach accessible from new-to-code through advanced CS students.

For #CircuitPython2026, I've distilled my 2025 #CircuitPython wish list (fosstodon.org/@anecdata/113773) to one item:

• asyncio support for sockets

(it can be done for TCP currently, though I don't think it's CPython-compatible, I'm not sure it's complete, and it hardfaults gist.github.com/anecdata/89b44)

@tannewt @adafruit Now I've read your blog post. Happy new year to you, too :)
Also great to have you here! And a huge thanks to make #CircuitPython, among other great stuff all the years!

Hi @adafruit, any news on real #circuitpython interrupts? The FAQ from 24. Feb. 2025 still says no. Are there plans on implementing them sometime?

Show the latest sports scores from the NFL, MLB, NHL, & NBA using this #CircuitPython project & the free ESPN API. A two-panel 64x64 HUB75 LED Matrix build modifying @blitzcitydiy ’s excellent original 4 panel goodness (thx Liz) & including a few more image tweaks & full league score cycling.

Building @blitzcitydiy's ESPN API Game Tracker in #CircuitPython. I used two 64 x 64 LED panels & it works great. I do get some flashes when it seems the S3 is accessing APIs / just before switching scores. Have a common ground, a 5v10a power supply for matrices, and the S3 running off a separate USB power supply. I also have a 1000uF capacitor between + and - at barrel jack into power supply, shared with LED + - and the common ground from the S3. Any other ideas?

Thanks @adafruit for sharing the “feline approved” rubber band launcher #CircuitPython project in this week’s Python on Microcontrollers newsletter. A fun project for those getting a #3Dprinter & who have #cats. Rubber Band Launcher - Fun for Cats! (CircuitPython School)

Now that classes are over, I've finally gotten a chance to starting writing this #CircuitPython CoAP library! Not too bad so far - got the basics of the outgoing GET message encoding so far. Still lots to do though - payload, all the other message types, more options, and of coarse the actual logic for the client and servers.

Today on day 18 of I use @adafruit wonderful to create an MP3 player hidden inside a Christmas present. The best part, it activates using a magnetic switch, to surprise the receiver.
