On ##ThisDayInHistory in 1940, the German #Luftwaffe staged a massive raid on #Coventry. 515 bombers participated in the #CoventryBlitz, and while the target was industrial infrastructure, the civilian and cultural damage was extensive. #CoventryCathedral was almost obliterated.

Bus Users #UK and Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) launched Catch the Bus Month at #Coventry #Transport Museum, joined by partners from government, transport bodies, operators and campaign groups. Hundreds of events are taking place across the UK, alongside promotions and offers. Speakers included Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, who highlighted investment in new electric buses, priority routes and fare reform in Coventry. Lydia Horbury of Bus Users UK stressed the essential role of buses in connecting communities, while TfWM’s Anne Shaw praised the city’s transformation under the all-electric bus programme. The Museum’s unique bus collection provided a fitting setting, with games, activities and exhibitions showcasing both the past and future of bus travel.
