The plot thickens.... There seems to be a deceased critter in the crawlspace. It's uncertain what exactly, but probably some sort of rodent -- a mouse, maybe a rat.

The #crawlspace is all but hermetically sealed, with no easy access spots, so a #pestcontrol person is coming out tomorrow to evaluate the situation. The HVAC guy went under the house today and said the stench under the house near the broken vent was really bad. Evidently, my elastomeric respirator yesterday really did its job 😅

Welp, I think I found where the gross cat pee smell was coming from... Crawled into the #crawlspace and identified an air duct that had come loose, probably some mold or possibly a dead animal living in there now, who knows.

I guess the good news is it probably isn't my cat Tom "Claw" Jones' fault, though he had peed near the vent previously which may have been a confounding factor. Maybe even caused the duct sealant to come loose, but I didn't see a trail of cat pee with the UV light. #HVAC

I'm a software guy, and my knowledge of #networking #hardware and wire[less] #protocols is virtually nil.

At least pretty much every room I'd want to wire is on the ground floor, and I think there's a #conduit I can use to get a bundle upstairs to the office. I just need to get another spool or so of #Cat6 #plenum cable and I could conceivably run things through the #crawlspace.

This weekend was an absolute marathon. In two days my brother, a friend, and myself dug out and laid 10mil plastic across my entire crawlspace. Very impressive amount of work done, but boy is my body sore today!

Still more work to do, but I can handle that myself, I shutter to think how hard it would have been to do that single-handedly.

The humidity has already gown down, and the temperature has gone up, and it's not even fully insulated or de-humidified yet. 👍
